The Port of Corner Brook is pleased to host a free, multi-phased Cruise Product Development Program facilitated by Aquila Centre for Cruise Excellence, with support from Go Western Newfoundland, Qalipu First Nation and Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).
Designed for local tourism operators and experience-based businesses, this hands-on program will explore what cruise lines and guests are looking for, how to enhance visitor experiences, and how to identify opportunities within the growing cruise market.
Whether your business is rooted in adventure, culture, food, storytelling, local attractions, or hands-on experiences, this workshop will help strengthen your offering for the cruise industry.
Phase 1:
On Wednesday, June 17, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, participants are invited to attend an in-person training session in Corner Brook, NL, led by global trainers from the Aquila Centre for Cruise Excellence.
The session will explore five key topics, including Cruise 101, industry trends and opportunities, pricing strategy and how to add value, determining product readiness, and learning how to exceed guest expectations.
Phase 2:
During the week of July 20, interested participants will have the opportunity to take part in a virtual “Dragon’s Den”- style feedback session, where they can present their proposed product or experience and receive valuable input from the Aquila Centre for Cruise Excellence and program partners before pitching directly to tour operators in early August.
Phase 3:
Based on availability and demand, select operators may be invited to host our tour operators on a familiarization tour of their proposed experience, providing an opportunity to showcase their product in-market and demonstrate its readiness for cruise visitors.
This is tentatively scheduled for August 3 and 4.
